The Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board (TSLPRB) issued four linked notifications on 29 July 2026, covering Sub Inspector (SI), Police Constable (PC), Assistant Sub Inspector, Fingerprint Bureau (ASI-FPB), and PC Driver & Mechanic posts, followed by a supplementary notification on 15 August 2026 that revised the age limit. Between them, these four notifications cover 7,437 vacancies. This guide pulls together what each notification actually says: eligibility, exam pattern, syllabus, fees, and how to apply, all in one place. It gets updated in place each time TSLPRB issues a new recruitment cycle, rather than staying frozen on 2026’s numbers.

The age relaxation, in full

Every age above is a starting point, not the real ceiling. Two separate relaxations apply, and they stack:

  • +5 years for all candidates applying to these uniformed-service posts (Police, Fire, Prisons, TSP Force), per GO Ms No.87 dated 18-05-2026.
  • +2 years more on top of that, per GO Ms No.122 dated 14-08-2026 (the 15 August supplementary notification). That makes +7 years total before any category-based relaxation below.

On top of that +7, a further category-based relaxation applies:

Ex-servicemen3 years, in addition to service length rendered
NCC Instructor (6+ months whole-time)3 years, in addition to service length rendered

The age limits, once relaxed as above, cannot be relaxed further. Date of birth is taken only from the SSC/Matriculation certificate; no other document is accepted.

Exam pattern, post by post

SI & allied: three stages

Preliminary Written Test (PWT), then PMT/PET (Physical Measurement / Efficiency Test), then Final Written Examination (FWE).

StagePaperDurationMarksNegative marking
PWTArithmetic, Reasoning & General Studies (objective)3 hrs20020% per wrong answer
FWEPaper I: English (25 objective + 75 descriptive)3 hrs10025% on the objective part only
Paper II: Telugu/Urdu (25 objective + 75 descriptive)3 hrs10025% on the objective part only
Paper III: Arithmetic & Reasoning (objective)3 hrs200 (post 11,17–19) / 100 (post 12–14,16)None stated
Paper IV: General Studies (objective)3 hrs200 (post 11,17–19) / 100 (post 12–14,16)None stated

Qualifying marks: PWT 30% (OC/EWS) / 25% (BC) / 20% (SC/ST/Ex-S). FWE, each paper: 40% / 35% / 30%. Papers I and II are only qualifying: they don’t count toward the merit list, and final ranking is on Papers III + IV alone (plus the PET run event for some post codes). PMT/PET itself: 1600m run (men, 7:15) / 800m (women, 5:20), height (167.6cm men / 152.5cm women, lower for Scheduled Tribes in listed Agency areas), then qualifying-only long jump and shot put.

PC & allied: two written stages

PWT, then PMT/PET, then FWE, but the Final Written Examination here is a single combined paper, not four separate ones.

StagePaperDurationMarksNegative marking
PWTCombined objective paper (200 questions)3 hrs20020% per wrong answer
FWECombined objective paper (200 questions)3 hrs200 (post 21,26–28) / 100 (post 22,23,25)None stated

Qualifying marks and PMT/PET standards are the same as SI’s above. There is no separate English or language paper for Constable: English is just one subject inside the single combined paper, both at PWT and FWE.

PC Driver & Mechanic

PMT/PET first (no separate PWT), then a practical Trade Test for Mechanic or Driving Test for Driver, then a Written Examination. The Trade Test carries 100 marks across 10 hands-on parameters, such as tappet clearance setting, gearbox dismantling and injector timing, with a 50% minimum; failing 3 or more individual parameters fails the test even at 50% overall. The Driving Test carries 100 marks across 8 parameters, such as gear changing, road sense and use of brakes, with the same 50%-and-3-parameter rule. The Written Examination is one Technical paper, objective, 200 questions, 200 marks, 3 hours, in English only. Qualifying marks for the written paper: 40% / 35% / 30% (OC-EWS / BC / SC-ST-Ex.S).

ASI, Fingerprint Bureau

PMT/PET first (height 162cm men / 152.5cm women, lower in listed Agency areas; no separate PWT here either), then a three-paper Written Examination:

PaperDurationMarksNegative marking
Paper I: English (25 objective + 75 descriptive)3 hrs10025% on the objective part only
Paper II: Arithmetic & Reasoning (objective)3 hrs100None stated
Paper III: Technical (Computers, objective)3 hrs200None stated

Paper I is qualifying only, same rule as SI’s English paper. Qualifying marks: 40% / 35% / 30%.

Syllabus, by paper

TSLPRB doesn’t prescribe a textbook for any of these. The subject lists below are straight from the notification’s own annexures, not a publisher’s interpretation of them.

SI: Preliminary Written Test

Arithmetic & Reasoning (100 Qs): number system, simple/compound interest, ratio & proportion, average, percentage, profit & loss, time & work, time & distance, clocks & calendars, partnership, mensuration; verbal and non-verbal reasoning, including analogies, similarities/differences, spatial visualization, problem solving, judgment, decision making, and visual memory.

General Studies (100 Qs): General Science (contemporary developments and everyday-observation-level science, environment); current events, national and international; History of India including the National Movement; Geography (principles and India); Indian Polity and Economy (political system, rural development, economic reforms); and the Telangana Movement and State Formation, covering the idea of Telangana (1948–1970), the mobilization phase (1971–1990), and the path to statehood (1991–2014).

SI: Final Written Examination

Paper I, English and Paper II, Telugu/Urdu (candidate’s choice): Matriculation-standard usage, vocabulary, grammar and comprehension (objective); précis writing, letters/reports, essay, topical paragraphs and reading comprehension (descriptive). Paper III, Arithmetic & Reasoning: same syllabus as the PWT above, 200 questions. Paper IV, General Studies: the same subjects as the PWT’s General Studies list, plus a Personality Test component (ethics, sensitivity to gender and weaker sections, social awareness, emotional intelligence).

PC: PWT and FWE (same subject list, both stages)

English; Arithmetic; General Science; History of India, Indian culture, and the National Movement; Geography (principles and India), Polity and Economy; current events, national and international; Test of Reasoning/Mental Ability; and content specific to the State of Telangana. The FWE paper adds the same Personality Test component as SI’s Paper IV. English questions are always set in English, even on the Telugu/Urdu versions of the paper.

ASI-FPB: the Technical paper

Computer hardware (architecture, memory hierarchy, peripherals); software (operating systems, Windows administration, database fundamentals); MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access); and networking & security (LAN/MAN/WAN, firewalls, authentication, antivirus, encryption, VPN). Papers I and II (English, Arithmetic & Reasoning) follow the same syllabus as SI’s equivalent papers above.

How to apply

Applications go through TSLPRB’s own portal only. No other mode is accepted. In outline, per the notifications and TSLPRB’s own user guide:

  1. Register at tgprb.in using your mobile number as your login ID (this number has to stay reachable for the whole recruitment process). First login uses your date of birth (DDMMYYYY) as a default password, which you then reset.
  2. Select the post(s) you’re eligible for.
  3. Pay the fee via card, net banking, or UPI. The amount shown depends on which posts you picked (see Fees below), and it’s non-refundable once paid, even if the form is never submitted.
  4. Fill in Part I of the application, upload a passport photo plus signature as one combined JPG file, and submit.
  5. Complete Aadhaar face authentication in the Aadhaar app by scanning the QR code the portal shows.
  6. Print and keep the submitted application form for every post you applied for.
  7. If you clear the PWT, you’ll separately have to log back in later to submit Part II with scanned certificates. Dates for that are announced after PWT results, not upfront.

Applying for more than one post across these four notifications within a 3-month window means the PMT/PET is conducted only once: the same readings count for every post applied for. Keep community, EWS, non-creamy-layer, local-candidature and any special-category certificates ready before you start; late certificates aren’t accepted at verification.

Fees

The notifications themselves don’t print a fixed rupee amount. They say the fee is “as designated in the Online Application.” Once the application window opened, the portal showed:

Post levelSC/ST, local to TelanganaAll other candidates
SI & ASI-FPB₹750₹1,500
PC (Constable)₹600₹1,200
PC Driver & Mechanic₹600 (unconfirmed)₹1,200

Applying for more than one post across these notifications gets a rebate on each additional post beyond the first: ₹50 for local SC/ST candidates, ₹100 for everyone else, on account of the shared PMT/PET.

These fee figures come from the live portal and independent recruitment coverage as of 20 August 2026, not from the printed notification text. The Driver & Mechanic non-local fee (₹1,200) is confirmed directly from the portal’s own fee screen, in the same group as PC (Constable); its local SC/ST rate is shown here as ₹600 by the same pattern every other tier follows (exactly half the non-local fee), but that half wasn’t seen directly, so confirm it on the portal before paying.

Important dates

Online application window: 19 August 2026, 8:00 AM to 9 September 2026, 5:00 PM, shared across all four notifications (confirmed on TSLPRB’s portal and independent recruitment-news coverage; not fixed in the original notification text). Preliminary Written Test, PMT/PET and Final Written Examination dates were not yet announced as of 20 August 2026. The notifications say these “will be intimated in due course through a Press Release.” Check tgprb.in directly rather than relying on a fixed date from anywhere else, including this guide.

Notification numbers, for reference: SI & allied is Rc.No. 225/Rect./Rect.1/2026; PC & allied is Rc.No. 189/Rect./Rect.2/2026; PC Driver & Mechanic is Rc.No. 234/Rect./Rect.3/2026; ASI-FPB is Rc.No. 279/Rect./Rect.3/2026, all dated 29 July 2026, amended by the supplementary notification dated 15 August 2026.

Prepare with our bots

Every written paper above draws on one of four subjects our bots already drill daily, question by question, in a Telegram group:

  • General Studies and Telangana-specific material (History of India, Polity, Economy, current events, and the Telangana Movement specifically): the TGPSC bot covers this with Telangana statehood material a general GS bot skips, and the General Studies bots cover the same core syllabus at a broader scale.
  • Arithmetic and Reasoning/Mental Ability, on every paper above without exception. The Aptitude bot drills exactly this.
  • English: a full separate paper for SI and ASI-FPB, one subject inside the combined paper for Constable. The English bot covers usage, vocabulary, grammar and comprehension question by question.

All four are free to use: add one to a Telegram group and it starts sending scheduled questions on its own.

How do I add a bot to my group?
Open any bot, tap Add to Group, pick your group, then promote the bot to admin. Admin rights are what let it send quizzes and tidy up old ones.
Does it cost anything?
Adding a bot and using it is free, and stays free: quizzes, scores, leaderboards, every command that is there today. Two optional extras exist, each paid either by UPI, card, netbanking or wallet through Razorpay, or with Telegram Stars: a group admin can buy a Settings Pass (₹199 or 300 Stars for 1 year, or ₹29 or 45 Stars for 1 month), which unlocks three settings for that group, with no automatic renewal; and a person can buy a Mock Test Pass (₹99 or 150 Stars for 90 days, or ₹49 or 75 Stars for 30 days, or ₹15 or 25 Stars for 7 days) for bigger solo practice tests. Neither is needed for anything free to keep working exactly as it does today.
